I recently discovered a new (and lazy) way to clean your face at the end of the day: Cleansing Miscellar Water. I had to research to find out what makes this cleansing agent so trendy. I also wanted to know if it was effective and the science behind it.
UK brand Boots Botanics Miscellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Water is available at Target.
What Does Cleansing Micellar Water Do and How Do You Use It?
To use it, you dampen a cotton round with the water and start gently swiping your make-up off. I’ve been seeing them pop up everywhere from Macy’s to Target. Though very convenient and non-greasy (sometimes the facial wipes I use leave a greasy feeling behind unlike this water) I think this could be your first step in taking your make-up off but I would still wash my face afterwards.
According to Bellabox Magazine these are the benefits of using micellar water
- Fatty acid esters cleanse the skin perfectly and gently
- Perfectly secure (no allergy or irritation risk)
- Cleanses perfectly included most of waterproof makeup, soothes and refreshes the skin in one step
- Can be used without rinsing at all
- Suitable even for the most sensitive skin
The most popular one in the market is Bioderma (now available in the USA), 1 bottle is sold every 6 seconds!
I had a $2 coupon for a Simple Skin Care Miscellar water so I bought it and used it. It removed all my make-up but I didn’t feel squeaky clean until I washed my face. The micellar water has no smell or different viscosity than normal water so it’s basically like a vitamin-packed super-water make-up remover!
These are the ingredients in the Simple Micellar Water that make it unique:
Triple Purified Water: Our purest possible water to minimize potential for irritation from particles or contaminants that can irritate skin.
Vitamin B3: Known to restore, soften and smooth skin. It’s especially great for those with dry skin.
Vitamin C: A water soluble antioxidant vitamin for skin.
Hexylene Glycol: Helps dissolve makeup and kindly conditions the skin
Sephora sells a higher end type of micellar water by Lancome.
Have you tried them and what do you think?
