The final night of fashion in downtown Houston was a display of even more beautiful dresses and faces on the red carpet. To my surprise, I couldn’t find the LIQS cocktail shots that night to start my night like I always had but there was a slew of red carpet photos to take so there was no time to mope about it!
Thank you to Kaine at Macy’s for helping me find this fringe blouse. I am absolutely in love with it!
What I Wore. Shirt: American Rag at Macy’s; Shoes: Alfani, Leather pants: INC at Macy’s, Purse: Botkier, Pearl Rings: H&M, Necklace: Cents of Style, Ear Cuff: Bauble Bar
Heather from LA Fashion Snob blog and designer Natalie Harris getting interviewed on the red carpet.
Michael Garofola from “The Bachelorette”
Shasie, founder of Houston Fashion Bloggers, gets her own time in front of the camera.
The staff of Fashion Houston, making everything possible behind the scenes.
Jared Lang, founder of Fashion Houston with Joy Sewing (wearing David Peck), beauty and style editor at The Houston Chronicle
Talented singer Taylor Crawley with Jonathan Grimes (Texans football player) on the keyboard. Random pairing but it worked!
The fashion show started with Lebanese designer Rami Salamoun. The glitter, sparkle, lace and detailed touches on everything from men’s suits to flowing dresses had me awe-struck. A true example of when more is more!
Amir Taghi, design prodigy in Houston considering he is a high school student and he has already showed his collection at New York Fashion Week. He showed both Fall and Spring pieces during his runway.
I was happy to know Fabrice Tardieu’s collection was for men since a male model runway is always good eye candy. Then I discovered his sporty, edgy pieces and fell in love with the concept. Though I think I could never make my hubby wear a pair of skinny leather pants!
Valentina Kova, a Russian born designer who currently lives and handcrafts her designs in New York City, made her runway debut at Fashion Houston and it was a stunning way to start with her Spring-Summer 2015 collection. She blew my away with her fearless use of color and then stopped for a photo after her show.
Closing Fashion Houston was local designer David Peck who gave the audience exactly what they wanted: a runway to remember, a spectacular show that fused ballet, art and fashion (featuring three ballet dancers from the Houston Ballet). David started his collection with a few fall pieces that he had previewed at the JW Marriott show and some surprises after that like his faux fur coats which are one of his best sellers.
Thank you to Fashion Houston for such a glorious week of fashion and photography and a big thank you to Houston Fashion Bloggers for allowing me to contribute in this year’s fashion celebration in Houston. Hope you’ve enjoyed my coverage on the blog and on Instagram! Until next year!
