A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of attending a styling event in honor of Eva Longoria’s new collection at The Limited in The Galleria Mall. Eva Longoria would be making an appearance and helping style her fans. I suspected chaos and madness waiting for Eva at the store so we left early with Maddy from The Loop Lyfe to avoid any of that!
Eva was so sweet, she didn’t hesitate to give me a hug!
Exchanging numbers—not really! LOL. We were getting selfie ready.
See how I styled this floral bomber jacket in this post. (I am not wearing Eva’s line in this photo in case you’re wondering.)
*A special thank you to The Loop Lyfe for snapping these photos of Eva and me!
As soon as we got there we bumped into Tiffany from Flaunt and Center and shortly after, Jillian from Cup of Charisma arrived. And then, we waited in suspense for Eva’s grand entrance. There was no back door for The Limited store at the Galleria Mall in Houston so Eva was coming in through the front door! We knew she was getting close because you could hear the long line of people outside cheering and screaming her name. And as soon as she stepped in through the door, everyone waiting for her anxiously and googly-eyed, started clapping and taking photos like crazy. When we caught of this petite Latina diva, Eva excitedly let out a tear or two.
We each had our turn to speak with Eva and ask her a few questions. When it was my turn I had to be quick but I was lucky enough to be able to talk to her as we were walking towards the end of the store and it honestly felt like talking to a dear girlfriend because she was so sweet and conversational. Here’s what she told me:
Nicole: I know that with the Eva Longoria Foundation you empower Latinas through education, and I am a Latina from Honduras, are you now empowering them with the power suit?
Eva Longoria: Oh I was there!
N: I know! You were in Honduras, specifically in Comayagua. Thank you!
EL: Yes! I’m putting the power back in power suits! We have a lot of material {in the line} called the power-ponte which sucks you in like Spanx.
N: What about the jeans?
EL: Our denim is also going to be the best because it’s available in petite sizes for short and curvy women. It has a four-way stretch because I think jeans should also act like Spanx and suck it all in and keep it all in! Ha!
The faux leather, pleather is also is in our dresses, leggins and in our fit and flare dresses. This has been an amazing journey doing this line and I hope to empower a lot of Latinas!
N: Congratulations on your HOLA! USA cover, you looked beautiful! (Eva was on the first cover of this magazine franchise which has released their first issue. The photograph on the cover is of her and her friend Victoria Beckham on Longoria’s wedding day.)
After our short convo we took some selfies and she retreated to take a break before saying hi to everyone that was at the store waiting to see her.
I’m planning to go to The Limited and try out the jeans and many other items that I saw from her line that would make great basic, investment pieces. I had zero time to shop on the day we met her and the store was full.
Thank you Eva for your time and kind demeanor. It’s always refreshing to meet down-to-Earth celebrities!
