The Sephora Play! Beauty Box || First Impression & Thoughts

With the slew of beauty box subscriptions around  it was about time that Sephora,  the leading name in beauty had one of their own. But, as a VIB Rouge member (the top tier of beauty-obsession at Sephora) is it really worth it to subscribe to receive 6 samples? Read on to find out!

I totally freaked out when Sephora made the announcement to launch their own monthly beauty subscription program and I’m sure you did too if you’re beauty obsessed! The only gripe I have with this is that as a loyal beauty customer with over 3,000 beauty points I feel these samples should be the ones I can cash in with my points. If you get them easily at your Sephora, let me know because the one in Sugar Land is always reluctant about letting me cash in my points for per-packaged luxe samples like the ones I received in this  box.

Having said that…let’s see what was inside my box for $9.99/month  just like Birchbox.

By the way, I love to show you the products in my hands so you get an idea of the sample size. Hope it helps!

SAMSUNG CSCA magazine complete with how-tos on every beauty item in the box.

SAMSUNG CSC

SAMSUNG CSCMARC JACOBS HIGHLINER. Psyched about trying this creamy retractable eyeliner since the full-size is super pricey at Sephora.

SAMSUNG CSCELIZABETH JAMES NIRVANA. I own multiple samples of this fragrance but I don’t love it.

SAMSUNG CSCBB HAIRDRESSER INVISIBLE OIL PRIMER. A little bit goes a long way. If you have fine, straight hair like mine very little will do to get your hair ready for mousse or spray.

SAMSUNG CSCOLE HENRIKSEN SHEER TRANSFORMATION. A sheer unscented face lotion by this cult favorite brand. I love the orange-scented products better though!

SAMSUNG CSCSEPHORA ROUGE INFUSION IN PEONY. Extremely excited about this sample because this creamy lip stain in color Peony is a more intense hue than the color of my lips. I already own one of these but I like this color better.

SAMSUNG CSCGLAMGLOW MUD TO FOAM.I have another sample of this face wash and it has the same minty refreshing scent as their mud mask. It leaves your face squeaky clean and doesn’t foam up like crazy.

So is it worth it? I’d say say YES based on the variety of products from eyeliner to face wash and the recognized brands that it includes. If you are subscribed to many boxes like me, then my answer is NO because it didn’t blow me away.

So if you haven’t joined other programs like Dermstore, Glossybox or Birchbox because you don’t know what to expect ( I love a good beauty surprise though, I don’t know about you!), at least with Sephora you’ll know that you’ll get the brand names in their stores.

Did you get it? Where you impressed?
