Last week, Fashion X Houston had an epic three day fashion runway event benefiting the Rebuild Texas Fund. The event took place at the posh River Oaks District but this new mom couldn’t attend any of the shows because I was exhausted! It’s the first time in my fashion-journalistic-photographic career where I don’t even try to make it to a fashion event; sleep deprivation will do that to you. Continue Reading

I’ve been watching the news non-stop, crying, smiling but mostly in awe of how much help the city of Houston has received from near and far. Fortunately, we didn’t flood, lose power or water but many of our friends and family have lost everything and we can’t imagine what that must feel like. Houston was hit with 5 years worth of rain in 5 days and it’s been horrible to sit back and just look while everything happened.
We’ve had a great desire to help but it’s been impossible because of impassable roads that are flooded. Along with my hubby, we’ve been sorting, labeling and compiling clothing and food and when when the roads are safe again, we’ll head to a shelter and drop off donations to help this city we love so much!
When the NYX professional Make-Up Store opened last year in The Woodlands, I know all of my Houston beauty bloggers were crossing their fingers hoping and praying that we would get our own freestanding store. Last night the tore opened for a bunch of Houston bloggers and we got to take a sneak peek of the new NYX Professional Make-Up store inside of the Houston Galleria Mall. I just wrote on my 24 week bump-date that I wasn’t going to any blogger events at night because I get sleepy around 8pm but I just realized how really obsessed I am with make-up and beauty events because I didn’t care and drove my butt to Galleria (nausea and all) because #FOMO is real! I’m so happy I did because seeing people and make-up physically makes me feel better! See below for photos and more details!
