Beauty Apps You Should Know About!

Ok, ok so I’m obsessed with beauty but I’m also obsessed with my IPhone. All the apps and so little time! Who knew you’d be able to scour thousands of images from worldwide followers on Instagram and shop your favorite shoes and make-up—all from your phone? I never imagined it! I had my first real, just-for-talking cellphone at 18 and it looked like a brick.

My husband is slowly but surely getting used to having my nose buried in my phone as I edit photos and shop my beauty obsession away. As a professional photographer and beauty junkie I have rounded of some up my favorite apps related to beauty. I don’t know if these are available for the Android but if you’re on the IPhone, I have you covered.

BeautyNow App

Created by Houstonian and stunner, Kathleen Jennings, this app is my beauty appointment heaven. Besides, how cute is the interface? It’s so pretty to look at! I punch in my zip code, the treatment I’m looking for, and tons of spas and beauty salons pop up including available appointment times. With the press of a button you reserve your service. Easy peasy. If you don’t follow Kathleen on Instagram you should @BeautyNowApp because, like me, she’s always putting on tons of fun looking, new facial masks, beauty treatments and make-up. She is not beauty-shy infront of the camera.

Similar to BeautyNow App but only offers event hair and make-up as well as bridal hairstyles and makeup. I personally not used this one yet but I’m just waiting for the day I seriously need some major event make-up artistry. As you can see, they are decently priced considering the stylist goes to your location of choice. I guess that the only think that irks me about this app is that you get to “request a specific stylist” in a comment section box and I have to write in my credit card information even before I know who is styling me—-And the stylist will come to you so you have to provide an address and location—hmmm. I don’t know, maybe I want to know at least some names or a stylist’s specialty before booking them. Definitely a neat concept for an app considering I’ve tried Glamsquad in Miami and loved it.BeautyNow App does that perfectly by providing you with specific information about your booking. But if you have tried this app, can you tell me about it?

L’Oreal Makeup Genius App

Ok, My hubby is going to be mad but even he had fun with this! The app scans your face and then you get to try on a lot of virtual looks with all of L’Oreal’s fab products. It’s like a magic mirror where you get to experience lots of new looks, from subtle winged liners to punchy, berry lips and eye colors I would probably never wear. I’ve never had so much fun with an app. If you like the look, you can even shop the products through the app.

IMG_8437Definitely too much make-up for me but still fun to play with.

Birchbox App

unnamedI love it when you hit the Discover tab on their app because it shows you new product arrivals!

I was subscribed to this beauty box service for years but I accumulated so many products I am on a hiatus. Nevertheless, their app is one of my addictions because they carry a lot of neat, beauty stuff that Sephora doesn’t have like Amika and Inika products. It’s seriously dangerous for my beauty shopping addiction because with a click of a button I’m buying rare beauty finds through my phone. My favorite finds (that became my favorites after getting samples in my monthly box) are Number 4 Super Comb Prep and Protect Spray (for blow-drying your hair), Coola SPF30 Matte Finish Cucumber for Face (best smelling SPF!) and their 32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Crystals with IsoVoxy (read: Pop Rocks that act as breath fresheners).

Do you know of any Beauty apps that I’d like? Let me know in the comments below!
