After attending a wedding in Roche Harbor in Washington State we stayed 2 days in Seattle to soak up this dynamic city; it’s sights, sounds, it’s fresh air and flavors. Seattle, in my mind, had a reputation for rainy days and grunge music like Nirvana but all I came back with was sunny weather and smiling people everywhere I turned–oh! and the Seattle Pride Parade which was right across the street of our hotel on Sunday morning. I loved the hustle and bustle of the city that weekend and have very beautiful memories of our short time there. We can’t wait to be back!
Being a petite girl with a curvy body, I never thought I could rock a romper. That was until I got one in my Stitch Fix box that hugged me in all the right places which basically means it was not tight on my waist, had a hidden elastic waistband and was a bit loose on my thighs; perfect! Rompers can be such a versatile summer piece in your closet just by changing up the accessories you wear with it (hence, my love for accessories!).
Thank you to everyone who entered our “Southern Soul” contest! Your stories were great and we loved reading them! Congratulations to Julia Bleck who is my “Southern Soul” finalist! We loved your responses and wish you the best of luck in this leg of the contest!
*This contest is in partnership with Southern Soul perfume.
I have a special contest for you all this week! Every Southern gal has her own story, style, vibe and soul. I’ve teamed up with three fabulous Texas Bloggers and we want to know your story! Share what your “Southern Soul” is and what makes you a Southern girl.
It’s been wedding mode on since June for us! It’s been exciting, a bit draining to our bodies and wallet because none of our family members and friends decided to get married in Houston! It’s been an overwhelming wave of happiness because our favorite people are getting married this year and we get to be there to dance with them, cry with them and celebrate their union. We just got back yesterday from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from my first cousin’s wedding and we’re leaving to another wedding soon!
Naturally, I’ve been on the hunt for the cutest dresses without breaking the bank for our hefty wedding season. This is one of my favorite wedding guest dresses under $50 that I wore a couple of weeks ago to Chris and Amy’s rehearsal dinner in Roche Harbor, Washington.
*I was gifted a box of PhylrtBox for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own*
When this cute little Phylrtbox arrived to my mailbox I couldn’t wait to open it! I’m an avid perfume collector and love discovering new scents which is the main mission of the PhylrtBox subscription box. There is no personality test or quiz on what you wear most or would like to try like in other beauty box subscription services. PhlyrtBox wants to encourage any subscribers to try out new made in the USA craft perfumes and fall in love with their discoveries. Having said that, you must have a very adventurous and curious nose to love this subscription service!
A week ago we jumped on a plane with my hubby to attend his best friend’s wedding in Roche Harbor, Washington. Chris, one of Miguel’s best buddies, is one of the best guys I know and I have known him ever since I started dating Miguel. He’s a fantastic guy, an engineer, incredibly helpful (he helped me move out of my apartment when Miguel traveled to work to Malaysia for a month!) and always the first one to arrive to our parties (we love punctuality) so we were ecstatic when he started dating Amy, a super sweet pediatrician who we loved as soon as we met her. A couple months ago Miguel came home and told me about how Chris had purchased an engagement ring and we couldn’t be happier! Chris and Amy were getting married! Continue Reading
Last week I had a blast highlighting my favorite beauty products from Neiman Marcus as their Camp Gorgeous “It Girl” event. It was super exciting to talk about many of the participating brands to customers and fellow bloggers that were in-store that day (I LOVE talking beauty). Many fellow Houston bloggers came out to support me during the event so thank you so much! I appreciate that you came by to enjoy some beauty samples and of course, some champagne! Check out the photos below of all the fun we had.
A week ago I hosted a Farah Nazar Jewelry trunk show at Macaron by Patisse (best macaron place ever, hands down. Yes, it’s better than Laduree in Paris). On a whim, Farah, who lives in the island of Roatan in Honduras and happens to be a college friend of mine, decided to bring her new, colorful designs to Houston and set up a cute pop up shop inside the River Oaks macaron shop. Farah Nazar Jewelry was born 12 years ago when Farah started designing statement earrings with pearls, colorful gemstones and Mayan details in every piece. Continue Reading
